Nomi Albert was born in 1971 in Jerusalem, where she studied clay sculpture and cement casting with a local artist. In 1991, she studied carpentry in a course given by the Ministry of Labor, and has since been working in this field. Nomi started out at a small carpentry shop in Ein Karem and honed her skills for 12 years at the furniture store Ha’asam in the Jerusalem area. Furniture pieces built by Nomi have been displayed at many design exhibitions. Today, Nomi owns her own carpentry shop at Moshav Tzofar, lives in Zuqim, and presents her designs at her woodwork studio in the artists colony. Nomi specializes in solid wood and plywood furniture. Her work is characterized by careful design, giving special attention to the natural movement of the wood.
